Plum (...and Me, Will!) Nominated For Prominent UK Award

Plum (…and me, Will!), written by Louise Osborn and produced by Sherman Cymru as their 2009 Christmas production for the under 7s, has been nominated for the Theatre Centre Brian Way Award 2011. The award celebrates the best of new plays for children and young people and the winner will be presented with a cheque for £6000 at a ceremony in London on 14 April.

Louise Osborn, who also directed Plum (…and me, Will!), has worked with many Welsh companies. She was previously Artistic Director with Theatr Powys, Associate Director with Hijinx Theatre Company, and spent several years writing for Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. On being nominated for the award, she commented:

“I was thrilled to be short-listed. Theatre Centre received a record number of submissions for this award, so it’s an honour to be in the final six. Making resonant, quality theatre for young people is hugely important to me and it can be very hard work, so it’s lovely to feel that my work has been recognised in this way!”
