08 Oct 2009

A fantastic opportunity to take part in a free workshop with award-winning playwright Roy Williams!

Thursday 19 November, 5.30 -7.00pm

• Are you aged between 15 and 23?
• Have you ever thought about writing?
• Do you like going to the theatre?

If this is you then you might be interested in this one-off opportunity to be inspired by the playwright Roy Williams in a free workshop at Sherman this November

.Days of Significance

You don’t need to have any previous experience of playwriting, and don’t need to bring anything with you other than pen and paper and some enthusiasm!

Roy Williams’s plays are passionate, gritty and relevant. He has written about football (Sing Yer Heart Out For The Lads), gang culture (Fallout), underage pregnancy (Baby Girl) and prison life (Category B) and his plays are often written in urban street-speak.

His latest play, Days of Significance, produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company comes to Sherman from Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 November and has been described by one reviewer as “one of the most disturbing and persuasive portraits of Young England I have ever seen.”

Under 25s can book tickets for this show for only £5 but be quick as there are only a limited number of tickets available!
