In the early 80s Shappi became a refugee, long before it became fashionable. Following regular sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, Shappi comes to Sherman with her brilliantly intelligent and funny one-woman show, Asylum Speaker, which draws on her personal experiences of leaving Tehran and moving to London.
