Before they depart for active service, two young soldiers make the most of a drunken night out with friends in an English market town. Their bravado is soon crushed by their tour of duty and the civilian life they return to is now as alien to them as the desert they left behind.
Following a critically acclaimed London run in 2008, the RSC is proud to tour Roy Williams' timely and explosive play which examines the aftermath of a war whose conflicts rage far beyond the Iraqi battleground. Roy Williams is one of the UK's leading playwrights, whose recent work includes Angel Face and Sing Yer Heart Out For The Lads (National Theatre), Fallout (Royal Court) and Clubland for which he was awarded the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright in 2001.
Days of Significance is directed by Maria Aberg, whose other credits include State of Emergency at the Gate Theatre, Crime and Punishment for the National Theatre and Alaska for the Royal Court. She was also Associate Director for the RSC's productions of The Winter's Tale and Pericles as part of The Complete Works Festival.
This production contains strong language, violence and some explicit scenes of an adult nature.
