Shock n Awe Performance Company
A co-production with Taliesin Arts Centre
14 - 17 March
Love them or loathe them, men are everywhere.
Muscle is a richly textured, emotional rollercoaster of theatre, dance, music, film and animation inspired by extraordinary interviews with men and performed by an eclectic all male cast who, as well as hailing from Mars, also play the characters from Venus.
Fresh from winning the Royal Bank of Scotland Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011, Shock n Awe return to their home city of Cardiff with a revamped version of this groundbreaking production.

"Each story is refreshingly cliché-free and all are exceptionally well performed by a multi-talented ensemble, who are equally adept at the more physical elements of the piece or delivering an emotive monologue. Together the separate stories are woven together to create a surprising, entertaining and authentic portrayal of what it is to be a man." The Stage
"The comedy is rich and genuinely funny, the stories are poignant without being steeped in needless caricature, sentimentality and political correctness. Men can be funny, they can be in amusing situations, they can even be the butt of the comedy – but they don’t all have to be Mr Bean." Buzz Magazine
"So – five men onstage, giving voice to the issues that preoccupy many perplexed sons and fathers, brothers and lovers, using their bodies in feisty choreographies when words need added sweat and sinew. And showing, in the process, the integrity it takes to move an audience to spontaneous tears and laughter." The Herald
