ScriptSlam

ScriptSlam is a popular and fun monthly evening of new writing in the relaxed studio venue at Sherman. 

Each month four new ten minute plays by four new writers are performed script-in-hand by professional actors.

After each play is performed a panel of industry experts - writers, actors and directors as well as our 'voice from the street' - will be on hand to offer their feedback on each play.

You the audience will then get to vote for your favourite play of the evening. The winner of the vote goes on to the Grand Final. The winning play in the final will have the opportunity to meet the Sherman Cymru Literary team and work with them to develop the script further.

Each event features live music and a chance to be enchanted and intrigued in the bar area beforehand by Psychic Illusionist Ross Hedley.

Held between October and April, ScriptSlam is a great opportunity to showcase bite-size chunks of new writing.

Eisteddfod ScriptSlam

Following the success of Script Slam at the Sherman the popular event will be in Welsh for the first time and will be visiting the Eisteddfod.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 12.30 pm three ten minute plays will be performed script in hand by professional actors at the theatre on the Eisteddfod field. Following each play a panel of experts; actors, directors and writers will offer feedback on the piece.

After all the plays have been performed the audience will vote for their favourite play. The winning play of each round will be performed in the final on Thursday at 12.30pm.

Following a National campaign for scripts nine plays have been chosen. Join Sherman Cymru at the theatre on the field for a fun filled hour of theatre.
