Sherman Cymru Youth Theatre

We offer weekly academy workshops for young people from Cardiff aged 10-18, and a performance ensemble for ages 18-25. Two Welsh-Language academy groups are also available for ages 10-18.

These groups provide a great opportunity to create theatre and develop performance and confidence skills.

The weekly academy workshops will set up camp at Chapter Arts Centre from 9 March for the duration of our 18 month redevelopment.

Youth Theatre News

Kontakt, the groundbreaking Youth Theatre project, continues to go from strength to strength in 2010. Kontakt @ The Pierhead in Cardiff Bay is the next stage in the production’s evolution, allowing young people and 15 politicians to have meaningful a conversation in a social experiment which explores how we communicate and learn from one another. The format will also be adopted by Age Concern Cymru and the World Expo site in Shanghai later in the year.

Members of Youth Theatre’s Company 4 head to Terezin in the Czech Republic in April to collaborate with students from Dresden, Dubai, London and Zurich on a site-specific work in response to a deserted concentration camp.
