Staff Fundraising
Our staff have been first in line to raise money for the redevelopment having put up with flooding toilets, leaky ceilings and cramped office space.
So far, Sherman Cymru staff have raised £7000 but we still need your help to make this project a reality.
If you would like to show your support and encouragement, you can sponsor the staff directly through www.justgiving.com.

Taff Trail Challenge
Sherman Cymru staff and supporters took part in a gruelling 26 mile marathon walk on Saturday 19 June as part of the fundraising campaign for the theatre building redevelopment.
Following the success of previous fundraising events, eight current and former Sherman Cymru staff (and a dog!) took to the road again to raise more sponsorship money for the redevelopment of the theatre by participating in a 12 hour walk along the scenic Taff Trail from Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff Bay.
Throw Yourself Off Sherman?
On 26 November Sherman’s Front of House and Technical staff organised a sponsored abseil off the Sherman roof raising money very specifically for new toilets in the new building. Front of House Manager, Marina Newth said:
“Our Front of House staff have put up with the challenge of our toilets and the issues that having a very old plumbing system bring for a very long time, so they have grabbed the opportunity to contribute to the redevelopment campaign in this way with both hands! The idea of a sponsored abseil came completely from them and really demonstrates their commitment and dedication to Sherman Cymru and its redevelopment.”
The abseil raised over £900 and still counting – thank you to all those who took the plunge!
Cardiff Half Marathon
On 18 October, ten members of Sherman staff ran the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Sherman’s redevelopment.
Cheered on by the rest of the Sherman staff the day was a huge success with all runners completing the course in less than 2 hours 35 minutes, and we’re all very proud of those who took up the challenge for this very worthy cause.
Emma and Suzanne from Sherman Cymru's Development Team said, "As two of the runners we would like to thank everyone who supported us, both in raising funds and turning up to cheer us on. It was encouragement well needed to cross the finishing line".
So far the Sherman Cymru runners have raised over £2,000.
